Prof Charles O.Uwadia, National President, Nigeria Computer Society and a Professor of the department of Computer Sciences, University of Lagos, Nigeria will tomorrow, Wednesday, 13th April, 2011 deliver the sixth inaugural lecture of the University.
The Title of his lecture is:
Software Systems: The Driving Force behind e-Revolution

Prof Charles Onuwa Uwadia,a native of Ukala-Okpunor in Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta State was born on June 7,1956 at Ibadan,Oyo State, Nigeria.
He attended St.Charles Grammar School,Oshogbo between 1970-1974).In 1979,he obtained his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan.In 1983 and 1990,Uwadia obtained his MSc. and PhD respectively from University of Lagos.
Prof.who joined University of Lagos in 1983 as an Assistant lecturer rose progressively through the ranks to become a professor in 2004.
Between 1996-1998 he was the acting Head of the department of Computer Science and later served as the acting Director, Computer Centre between 2003-2005.From 2005-date,he is the Director, Centre for Information Technology and Systems(CITS),the host of EduNet Africa
Prof Uwadia has distinguished himself in his profession both locally and internationally as he is a visiting Professor of universities in the US, UK, Italy, Australia and Nigeria.
Professor Charles Uwadia (Fellow, Nigeria Computer Society) and in his capacity as the National President of Nigeria Computer Society has brought a lot of vibrancy in the IT body and other sub associations of Nigeria IT industries and Professionals.
One of Professor Uwadia’s passions is to see our institutions of higher learning develop research and educational networks in no distance time, and this he is pioneering with other stakeholders through the Eko Connect, an initiative aimed at providing connectivity to our institutions starting from Lagos.
Prof.Charles Uwadia is happily married with three children.
