It was an interesting moment today after I arrived Dubai early hours from Nigeria to witness the opening ceremony of the biggest Technology Festival in Middle East, Africa and South Asia-The GITEX Technology Week at the Dubai World Trade Centre which is actually the 33rd edition.

The conference and exhibitions which has over 2000 new exhibitors, 37 country exhibitions with Serbia as official country partner had His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, opened GITEX Technology Week.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, His

Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, along with several dignitaries on the tour of the GITEX Technology Week opening. His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre, organizer of GITEX, guided the VIP entourage on the opening tour.

You can follow the rest of the event via live feeds and then on twitter with the hastag #Gitextechweek
