Just recently the Information Technology Unit (lNTECU) of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife established a Research and Education Network (REN) which would provide data communication networks and services to educational institutions in Osun State.

At a well attended ceremony which had the Vice-Chancellors of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Bamitale Omole, and Osun State University, Professor Sola Akinrinade; the Chief Medical Director OAUTHC, Professor Sanya Adejuyigbe and Chairman, Medical Advisory Council OAUTHC, Professor Foluso Owotade in attendance; the Chairman, ICT forum in Nigeria, Dr. Ibrahim Aminu, who was represented by Mr. Adewole Ajao, eulogized the ingenuity of the coordinator of the Osun/lfe REN, Professor Kunle Kehinde who was described as a grandfather of ICT in Nigeria.
