Samsung Electronics, a global giant in digital media and convergence technologies, has announced the availability of Samsung Xpress M2020W; a mono laser printers that can print from mobile devices, in the Nigerian market.


Samsung Xpress M2020W Printer prints from mobile devices using advanced NFC technology, Wi-Fi Direct, Google Cloud Print and Samsung Mobile Print App, a free and powerful app that works with iOS, Android, and Windows devices which gives users the ability to print images, PDFs, and MS Office documents quickly and easily. It is also compatible with both Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint.

Entry level Samsung Xpress M2020W Wi-Fi-enabled laser printer can be had for little more than the price of some ink cartridges. Setting up is easy as pressing the one-touch WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on the unit. It comes with print speeds of up to 21ppm and first page out times of under 9 seconds. It has the smallest footprint of any of the Samsung NFC models at 13.0” x 8.5” x 7.0” and actually weighs less than 9 lbs. The printer can hold up to 150 sheets of paper at a time in its only tray which can accommodate media from 3×5” up to 8.5×14” including envelopes, labels, card stock and many more.


The Samsung Xpress M2020W includes a built-in 400MHz processor as well as 64MB memory. As with all the new Samsung printers, it incorporates Samsung’s Rendering Engine for Clean Page (ReCP) technology which means that users get sharp monochrome output each and every time with an effective resolution of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. The Samsung SL-M2020W mono laser printer works best for users with simple printing needs. This black-and-white printer is in it for economics and productivity.

Describing the device, the Product Manager, Printing Solutions, Enterprise Business Team, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Bennett Nwogu said, “Samsung Xpress M2020 is designed for upwardly mobile Nigerians who wants to save their precious time and effort. Samsung realized that a faster printer means faster workflow and Samsung Xpress M2020W is equipped with a 400MHz processor and 128MB memory to print 20 pages per minute. It can print recycled papers, envelopes, labels, card stock and many more with an effective resolution.”


As a monochrome laser, Samsung Xpress M2020W has a single, black toner cartridge which is combined with an imaging unit for this particular printer. Thus, when users change from the starter 500 page toner cartridge, they only have to replace one piece. The standard yield toner is rated for up to 1,000 pages.


The desktop software you’ll need to access the driver settings on Windows, Mac, and Linux machines is on the disc included in the packaging and available online if your computer doesn’t have an optical disc drive. The software automatically installs an Easy Printer Manager to control settings and make custom profiles for different kinds of prints.
