All over the world today, Technology is one tool that impacts on every aspect of an economy. It enables sustainable development and empowers the people for growth and productivity.

We cannot afford in this age to continuously pay little attention to the importance of Technology for development (T4D). This digital gap has also created with it great opportunity for technology investment in the region.

Therefore an investment in Technology for Development (T4D) in the South Eastern region (Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states) of Nigeria at this time is seen as essential and a veritable tool that will drive sustained growth.

1. Broadband Expansion and Penetration in the Region.

Under this session, issues bordering on Access, Availability, Affordability of Broadband Internet services in the South East region of Nigeria will be looked into by the government, stakeholders, service providers. Also practical moves to rural access to telephony, quality of services, Infrastructure development, rights of way and related challenges will be addressed.

2. Driving Science, Technology and Innovation into the Region

Technology Innovation experts from Silicon Valley, Israel and South Africa will lead this session of the Summit with strategies and roap map on how to build a region with Science, Technology and Innovation clusters and centres.

It will also explore different areas of technology like Web and Software development, Mobile App technology, Electronics etc.

3. Investment Opportunities

Technology development like Broadband provision demands huge investments; the opportunities in Technology Investments in the region will be discussed. Major financial services providers-the Banks will provide relevant information that will support and guide investors. The model of public private partnership will be explored.
