The competition in the mobile phone market in Nigeria is actually driving certain changes and innovation. As different phone makers are constantly innovating to gain and maintain their market share, users are becoming more knowledgeable, insatiable and that makes the system interesting.

The TECNO brand of smart phones has become one of the leading brands in the Nigeria market. The increasing economic importance of the TECNO brand to Nigerians becomes enviable as different cadre and social strata of phone users in Nigeria now have a TECNO phone that suits them. For users who want phone of style, elegance, high aesthetic value and functionality that matches other high-end phones in the market and yet very affordable, I think the latest TECNO Phantom A commonly called the F7 is a good choice.

I Have been trying out the phone for several weeks now, It is certainly more advanced than the TECNO P3.There are interesting features, functionality and adaptation in the phone that I would like to share with you.

TECNO Phantom A with the Flip cover

The TECNO Phantom A is stylishly designed, the shape and dimension (143.5*70.8*9.1mm) is very attractive. It comes in Black or White color with ultra-large 5 inch torch screen and a 9.1mm super slim body. This expressive, responsive and capacitive torch screen gives you a great experience when you watch movies, songs or play games on it.

The phone runs on Android 4.1 jelly beans platform, which has very powerful and fine aesthetic user interface. It has a speed of 1.0 GHz on a dual core processor which makes booting and browsing the internet pretty fast. Its memory is 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM with a 32 GB external memory.

As per connectivity, the TECNO Phantom A supports 2G,3G, Edge, WiFi, WLAN, GPRS, with a GPS- supported map software and then Hotspot Technology.

F7 comes with a lot of apps pre-installed like the Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Angry Bird, Instagram, Asphalt 6, and then with the Google Play store you can download more apps to your phone. One app on the phone that I found very relevant is the CamCard. The CamCard helps you store your business card on the phone by just taking a shot of the card using the CamCard. The app automatically stores the details on the card onto the phone and you can call, email or connect with the contact directly through the stored business card.

The phone has a front and back camera of 1.2mega pixel and 8 mega pixel respectively with powerful auto focus. The picture quality and impression is great, the HD supported 5 inch screen also improves the quality of the picture. For people who understand dimensions more, the resolution of the camera is 720 by 1280 and the picture size is 3264 by 2448.It supports the following picture format: jpg, gif, bmp and png.

The phone comes with G sensor, Light sensor, Proximity sensor that supports 3D.It has great multimedia and entertainment tools built into it, the audio player supports MP3, Midi, Amv, Wav and AAC. While the video player supports MP4 and 3GP.

Phantom A has an improved battery life than most smart phones of such capacity. The battery model is BL-3H of 2100mAh, talk time is 120H and a standby time of 400H.Phantom A comes with an accessory/ device called  TECNO Power Bank that stores power for up to 50 hours and used to charge the phone anywhere at any time. This is very relevant as insufficient power is a major problem in Nigeria. With this Power Bank, your mobile device will constantly be charged.

Other common  features in the phone include: Dual SIM slot, FM radio, Voice recording, video recording, Bluetooth, video calling,Clock,Alarm,Calender, calculator, flashshare, games, browers, search button etc.

I would say that am also exploring and finding out more as I use the phone, it is in addition to all I have mentioned above very affordable; I learnt the price is now 35,000 naira. I have recommended the phone to many and now am doing same to you, go try the TECNO Phantom A-The F7!

  3. D phone is cool but not as its bin praised. D internal memory is just 1gb, d battery spent last that long. I charged full and will soon run down from d look of things. Again d memory card which came wit it just suddenly went bad, had to format n I lost most of my apps and surprisingly some notification tones. To worsen it, I set d now formatted SD card to default storage but its not working, wen I want to get an app from play store, it goes to phone which isn’t much.

  4. Hi, I believe you meant to type 12 hours of talk time and not 120 hours. Is the Phantom A the same thing as the F7?
